Gradle is a source code building and integration tool. Mainly it is used for building java projects. In this article we will be installing gradle on windows.

Installing Gradle on windows:

You can go to gradle home page and download the latest version. Installing gradle on windows takes as little effort as simply adding the gradle installation to path system variable. After your download has completed, you will see filename something like gradle-2.4-all.zip. You can simply extract the zip file and can see the directory structure as below.

2015-05-22 00_34_40-gradle-2.4 Now your <gradle_home> will be the directory in whch all these directories are present. You can find bin directory which has the file gradle.bat . Add <gradle_home>/bin . to your path variable.

After path variable is set, we are done installing gradle on windows. It’s as simple as that. To check whether installation is successful or not, open command prompt anywhere and run gradle command as below. It should be able to see below
